So the hiatus this week was due in part to our week of birthday celebrations! The Husband and I have birthdays that are just two days apart so the celebrating usually spills over on both days.
We started Wednesday night with a Martini’s Dinner. It was another dinner like the Johnny Walker dinner but this time the featured liquor was Crown Royal. Another fun dinner with a drool inducing menu! Thanks so much to Frank and Chris for making our birthday special. We had invited a few friends and we had a great time!
At work on Friday we had Nacho Fiesta to celebrate all of the birthday and anniversary celebrations. October 21st is the International Day of the Nacho so we had a great time (and a pinata!)
Saturday for lunch was our experiment with the Buttercup squash. As I have mentioned before, this is our first year eating squash and I don’t know why we haven’t done it more before. This time, we roasted the squash covered in a brown sugar mixture and covered it with apples. We served it with spice rubbed pork and the best Pinot Noir, Felton Road. What a great lunch!
The rest of Saturday was spent hitting up our favorite places! We went to Martini’s again, LeftHand, and Terroir. We snacked around and had a great day! Best way to spend a birthday!
Yesterday and today have been rest days (3 day weekends are awesome!) I suspect going back to work tomorrow will be tough!
