With weather like this, I’m excited to be going on another quick trip this week.
Speaking of trips, I am finally getting a chance to go through my California pictures. The ones below were some of my favorite completely un-edited. At least the hundreds of pictures will give me something to do on my 5 HOUR FLIGHT on Tuesday…
I’m also prepping a lot of tunes for the 3 flights in the next week and a half. What do you think of my September list? Any suggestions?
And finally, headed to Natural Products Expo East next week in Baltimore. I know I will see lovely faces like Lauren there. Anyone else? Would love to meet up with you if you are in town.
See you Monday from Vegas (hopefully poolside!)

It feels like I have been living in a gray fog since Sunday night. Last weekend I was able to spend the weekend with this cutie, and of course the rest of the family! Isn’t she cute??
What I didn’t expect was for the Iowa weather to trigger my Iowa allergies. I have been recovering all week from a massive sinus infection that came with two ear infections as well! I can’t remember the last time my allergies knocked me out this hard. Luckily (note the sarcasm), I am getting on a plane tomorrow for a work trip the Big Easy!
Hopefully one more night of sleep and a few more doses of my meds will have me feeling much better. Back on Monday with some beer travels and hopefully I can share some NOLA pictures with you too!

Well I had quite the surprise for our anniversary! Instead of going to work, the Husband took me took me to Vegas! I was blown away and so excited. I’m going to let the photos speak for me today.
I don’t normally talk about work in this space but this time, definitely going to go there! I haven’t really written much about who I work for out of respect for the boundaries that exist between work and home. However, for the second time I headed out to Anaheim, California for the Natural Products Expo West and Engredea and it was an amazing blur of a week.
Once I got home, I realized that I had next to know pictures of anything that happened! I was able to attend a few educational sessions and meet a lot of incredible people through networking events but I was there to support the show itself, not a company exhibiting there (even though I had a lot of booth duty!). But booth duty isn’t so bad when you can start your morning getting a tour started with a mimosa!
I was able to hit the show floor for about an hour and I saw some incredible new products! One of my favorites was the new line from The Republic of Tea. While I am a Celestial Fan through and through, some extra flavors every once and a while is not a bad thing. I will definitely be hitting up the store to grab some new tea for my desk! I also stopped by the Flapjacked booth and saw these two lovely ladies! Always nice to see a friendly face in a crowd of 65000 people!
The weather and the views were also incredible! I was afraid that it was going to be rainy and cold based on the weather reports the weeks leading up to the show but alas, 70’s and sunny every day! Had to step outside to warm up every once in a while! Luckily I snagged a good shot!
And the views from my hotel room were pretty great too!
Overall, an incredible work trip! Next time, I promise I will take more pictures!
Do you know what’s worse than traveling for work? Settling back into normal life after a work trip… I’m always so tired, too lazy to cook, and my normal schedule is haywire.
Wish I could order room service every morning!
This was a strange benedict… more eggs under the ham and no muffin
Tasty cocktail at Tavernitas! thanks, Lindsey!
I did get to go out a little bit and I got some great shots of one of my favorite cities!
Our train stop for Wrigley!
And now that my suitcase is unpacked, we are starting to look at quick summer trips around Colorado. We are looking at finally spending a weekend in Colorado Springs (any tips?), down to Durango, and possibly another trip to Palisade and Grand Junction! We live in such a diverse state, it would be a shame to spend any more time at home.
Tell me about your favorite trip! Or tell me where to go!
Not going to lie, this week has been tough. I never settle in from trips well and I am doing two of them back to back. We drove home on Sunday and we got mostly unpacked. After 13 hours in the car Sunday, I was ready for some sleep. Monday was spent on the couch with ice packs and ibuprofen. And yes, my bruise is healing nicely. Lesson learned, new pool liners are slippery. The rest of the week was spent prepping myself for my work trip this week, trying to stay motivated to keep moving (a few dog walks and a new yoga class), and eating too much junk (who wants to cook when it’s 100 degrees out?). Needless to say, I’ve been a grump and therefore I have no Friday Five.
I am hoping to have a successful trip and come back all bright and happy. Definitely going to check out some new breweries in the area and I can’t wait to share them with you. I’ve also gotten some writing ideas swirling in my brain. I just need to get a few minutes to actually sit down and write them out. Until then!
